adoption: why?

That is the question that we get the most frequently. why did you choose adoption?

So here is our story why we were led to adopt and most importantly international adoption.

You can say its things really do happen for a reason:
It all started when colleen was 10 years old. She was very intrigued with the thought of international adoption. Being 10 she really didn't understand why, other then she wanted to help children around the world that were less fortunate, as we are here in the United States. As she got older she really started to understand the conditions that the children live in orphanages around the world.  The children were bound to cribs, neglected, and starved to death, due to lack of money and resources the country may have, so this made her want to adopt even more. So the years went by with adoption still on her brain, never really knew why but it was always there, and throughout the years she frequently looked at children's photo lists, who were up for adoption, and adoption was a mere dream. Until she met James and the topic of adoption came up, and he mentioned he has wanted to do foster care, because he knew a family that had done it previously.  So we dated and got married, happily; then tried to have children. So after  1.5 years being married we had so much love and a spare room so we decided to do foster care.  We completed the 10 week  state training then we found out in December 2014 that we medically can't have children naturally or IVF. (Miracles can always happen so we just never know what the future may hold.) So at that moment it hit Colleen like a ton of bricks. It all made sense and it didn't surprise Colleen in the least. Colleen had always been interested in adoption and her and James were put together to adopt the less fortunate across the world.
