Where it all began

It all started when Colleen was a ten year old girl, she wanted to adopt. She would sit on the computer an look at photolists of waiting childen. Children that longed for a family. Children that lived in a crib with nothing stimulate themselves only their hands. And sometimes those were even ties to the crib.

When she met her husband James, he said he had wanted to do foster care.

After they got married and unsuccessfully tried to get pregnant, they applied to do foster to adopt. After two months Colleen called and they said they never received their application. So they decided just to foster at that time. They did the classes and everything. A few months past and no word from the state( very backed up)
Then they found it that they wouldn't be able to get pregnant at all. Colleen knew it was meant to be and they would grow their family through adoption. They applied for foster to adopt again and at the same time inquired about a 1.5 year old boy, from Bulgaria.  A month later Colleen called to followed up about their foster to adopt application. She was told again it was misplaced and they never received it.  At that very moment Colleen received an email. That email was the file of the little boy from Bulgaria. The knew they were being called to Bulgaria. And that started our international adoption journey.

A very similar thing happened with this second adoption. Colleen was a prayer warrior / advocate for this little boy in eastern Europe. A few month went by and a family committed to him. Yay!!! However,. Colleen has a gut feeling that the family would relist him. She thought it was because she wanted him, but it wouldn't go away. The last day they were in the carribean, Colleen was looking at the ocean and he got relisted. Colleen knew this was a sign that he was theirs. So they jumped.

I can't wait for everyone to follow us on our second adoption journey.
